Creating hope through rebuilding or innovation.

Rotary Young Artist Competition 2023

The annual Rotary Young Artist Competition provides an opportunity for young artists to share their creative talents and showcase a two-dimensional piece of art. Young Artist is one of ten competitions organised by Rotary Great Britain and Ireland to challenge young minds and give them a platform to share their work and achievements.

The subject/theme for the art and photography competition this year was ‘Creating hope through rebuilding or innovation’

Rotary Young Artist Competition 2023 Young Artist Competition winners are:

1st place – Isabella McDonald S3  – My artwork represents a girl’s battle with her mental health from being bullied. The darker colours show her low emotions and how it was consuming her. The brighter colours and flowers show her blossoming, degrowing and rebuilding her strength.

2nd Place – Haydn McLean S1 – The ‘Forget me not’ flowers and little workmen represent the work that’s being done to help and support people with Dementia. Trying to give these people hope.

3rd Place – Niamh Menmuir S1 – As long as you give a little love there will always be a little  bit of hope.

Rotary Young Artist Competition 2023 Young Photographer winners are:
